11-09-10 I figured out who it was, but no, I'm not going to hold any grudges or down-talk them on my site. It was a kid friend of mine who probably just didn't understand the severity of his actions. But whether he did or didn't, it's been straightened out now, and I'm not going to reveal identities further than I already have elsewhere, so that this issue may die down. 11-07-10 Well, I always did want people to listen to my music and enjoy it. I always did want some fans. But this? This makes me sick to my stomach. I recently discovered (recently being about an hour ago) that a person on a forum actually attempted to pass off my musical creations as his/her own. I didn't even know that anybody visited my page. You can find the forum thread here on an Earthbound roleplay forum: LINK TO SADNESS HERE It deeply hurts me and upsets me that someone would do this. I don't ask for any money. I don't charge ten dollars an album. Not five dollars an album. One dollar. Not even ten cents, a nickel, a penny. I share my music for ABSOLUTELY FREE using a creative commons license, where the ONLY thing I request is that people give me proper credit when sharing my music. The license can be viewed here: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/ There's a link to that on the front page of this site at the bottom. Basically, you're free to listen to it, burn it, mass distribute it, give it to your friends, make torrents, even ADAPT AND REMIX it as long as you keep it non-commercial and provide me credit - whatever it is you want to do with it. I just want credit. Credit and proper acknowledgement is all I have from my music, because I don't make money. If you take my credit from me, you leave me nothing. And it makes me not want to share a single thing with anyone ever again. I'm seriously heart-broken over it. This update also serves as a PROOF. Because I will be linking back to this page as proof that I am the true author of this site and the music on it. If anybody is reading this, and has seen anyone post GoophBaLL music on any forum/website/videosite recently, PLEASE email me the link to the post or article in question at psqueak1@gmail.com if you have reason to suspect that the post is false. Because I do post my music on forums sometimes, so if I don't find false posts myself, they might go undetected forever. And the thought of someone stealing credit for what I do...ugh, it's just a really really bad feeling. I usually end my updates with a happy note, but I can't even pretend to be very happy right now. Gooph is really really sad right now. 09-03-10 I'm back and better than eveeerrrr! Okay, so I left you all for a long time, but I've been busy. Plain and simple. Lots of over-time at work, various other happenings in life- I struggled to find time for musixxxxxx. But the patience paid off, as I put more effort into this than I put into my job lol. :3 Gooph brings to you a BRAND NEW, FULL LENGTH SONG SET. It's titled "Auxiliary Sound Test", a sound test menu of a different kind. Lots of nice, videogame-esque themes in here, incorporating my cool, funky bass-lines and sporadic bluesy melodies :D But it's not in the same vein as The WaterRoom. Auxiliary Sound Test takes a more Western Star Battle Disco Wars approach to things, and seeks to blend a wider palette of styles, with heavy video-game and computer overtones. I have some more experimental tracks in here, though they don't stray too far from my actual style. Overall though, it's a pretty varied set. You can read more about the set and it's over-all theme on the Auxiliary Sound Test page. Truthfully, the song set is rushed a bit... like, maybe 3 weeks or a whole month rushed. I tried to do a good job and I hope the tunes don't sad bad to you all. But personal things in my life are coming up- my cousin and aunt are moving to my home-town- I will be busy helping them in the coming few days. Then once they're here, we'll probably be really busy trying to get them situated for the next few weeks, and my brain will not be in music-mode. I've been on a music kick for the past month or so, compared to earlier this year when ideas just weren't coming to me... and I'm afraid that if I don't release this now, then by the next time I have real, personal free-time to work on the music, my creative vibes will be dead again. Lol. So it's here for you, now or never... or maybe not "never", but heck, you see what I mean. Would you really want to be waiting for these until flippin' October, or November, or maybe even December? When they might only be marginally better? (INB4 "Yes!" haha) Anyway, despite the rush on a handful of the tunes, I can honestly say that these sound pretty good. Maybe even more polished than WSBDW, though it won't be hard for you to pick out the Auxiliary Sound Test tunes that I gave the most dedication to. But lieeeek, it's free musix, rite? So it's an epic win, regardless! Ah, good ol' justification. Oh well, I hope you enjoy it anyway. Oh, and there's been some changes to the site, though minor ones. - Page dedicated to Auxiliary Sound Test - Sound Sources Updated - Image Sources Updated - More related links Listen, I PROMISE it won't be months before I update the site again. Maybe 1 month, or a little over, but not 5 or 6... sorry for that. I won't be able to release any huge song sets due to reasons I already explained, but I might do a few single XKLOOSIV tunes in the mean-time or something. I have about 15 or 20 unused hooks and loops and projects for songs that didn't make it into Western Star Battle Disco Wars, The WaterRoom, AND Auxiliary Sound Test. There might be enough ideas here to actually even get started on a new song set, but it's not the best time to try doing that at the moment. So all I'm promising is a song or two~~ Talk to ya later. Go nuts! You can download the latest Update History in this text file: ------------------------------------------------ 02-15-10 Hey there everyone! It's me, Gooph / sQueak. Not much new going on; no big new changes other than a new page dedicated to my new Mini-EP, "The WaterRoom". It's a 7 song set, based off the song "WaterRoom" from my Every Day Journey album. At this moment, I have 6 out of 7 songs completed, but the last tune is coming. Meanwhile, enjoy the first 6 tunes! You can download the Update History in this text file: http://www.goophball.net/datafiles/updates/PNET_Update_History_2010_Feb_15.txt [02-28-1] - I didn't feel it was justified enough to rewrite the entire last update, but WaterRoom - VII is now complete and the mini EP is complete as well. WaterRoom - IV and WaterRoom - VI were also re-uploaded with their finals. Enjoy~ Next up is to update the sound sources page - I'll get to that soon ------------------------------------------------- 10-12-09 Hello psqueak.net visitors. Or should I say, goophball.net visitors. That's right, you got here through psqueak.net, but there has been yet another name change. Yet another. I know you're all thinking "Wow, squeak just can't decide". Well, it's not that. It's that every name I think of for composing comes out to be taken already. First with "Shoko" and then now, with "PsQueak". I've ran across a few other ones. Well "GoophBall" is a name I searched for on the internet for a long time, and I came back with no results. Soo, I've decided to go with that. I know it's an annoyance to some, but that's just the way it is. There's some news for you, as well as a brand new album. I hope you all enjoy: ** Brand New Full Album A new album entitled "Western Star Battle Disco Wars" has emerged. This album is the successor to "Every Day Journey" and takes a lot of influence and style from that album. It is what I strongly consider as my second real album, only after Every Day Journey. I do hope you enjoy this mp3 set. ** Site Name / MP3 Tagging: If you remember, the site name went from Shoko's Page to PsQueak's Page due to Shoko being an increasingly popular monicker. Well, apparently, PsQueak is popular too, so I've made the FINAL name decision. GoophBall (alternatively spelled GoophBaLL). Across the internet, this helps keep my name distinguishable from other Shokos and PsQueaks. NOTE NOTE NOTE: It's strongly advised to bookmark "goophball.net" now, rather than "psqueak.net", considering this is the new page name. As you probably expected, all the new mp3's have been re-tagged with the new name. ** Every Day Journey: Every Day Journey, though what I consider an official album, has not been re-tagged as "GoophBaLL" HOWEVER, the mp3's have been remastered and reuploaded. The mp3 updates include a much needed correction on the audio. Any audio clipping in the songs has been fixed. It might not be important to some, but for those wanting better clarity, I would suggest for the last time to redownload all the mp3's in "Every Day Journey." As I can not edit the songs themselves, the compositions are all exactly the same as before; the audio has only been better compressed and controlled. I promise that this will be the last time you ever have to download these songs. They will be the last songs you ever see with the "PsQueak" name as well. ** To save room and space, the albums "Pitch Bender and "Patience" have been combined into one page as part of a grouping "Older Sets". These are the songs that were in musical album sets before I switched over to the new, permanent "GoophBall". They have not been re-tagged as "GoophBaLL" however. Only from Western Star Battle Disco Wars onward. ** Some songs have been added to the "Xkloosiv" list. Because these don't belong in any sets, they have been re-tagged as GoophBaLL. ** Images Credits and Sound Credits These pages have been updated accordingly. ** Now the update history is available. You can view it or download the text file here: http://www.goophball.net/datafiles/updates/PNET_Update_History_2009_Oct_10.txt ** New additions to the outlinks page ____________________________________________________________________________ 05-31-09- Wow, so much has happened. Updates were going smoothly and then just BAM, I kinda let you all down. I apologize. Well, as you can see, there's been significant changes. The first thing you might notice is that the site name has changed. ** Site Name: I have changed the site name from Shoko's Page, to PsQueak's Page. They are both composing monickers I go by. However, I have noticed problems with the name "Shoko." There are other musical Shoko's. When searching for myself on the internet, I often notice that my songs get lumped in with the music of other Shoko's. For instance: http://www.musicr.info/Shoko/ . You'll notice there, that it lists mp3's from different people under the name "Shoko." The songs "Fiona Factory", "Cassie Canyon" and "Crossing Parallels" are indeed me. I however, have no workings with the other mp3's. In order to stand myself out from the crowd, I decided to simply go by my monicker "PsQueak" (short for Pip-squeak, with a tWeak to the spelling). ** Files And Tagging: All mp3's have been re-tagged with the new name. Users should completely change out their mp3 lists. The taggings are better too. More precise and consistent. Some spelling errors fixed as well. It is advised that both new and old visitors re-download any songs previously owned. All songs are now hosted here on psqueak.net (Patience: "ElectroRhapsody" was hosted elsewhere) ** The site used to be decorated with lots of cutesy anime images. And while I do like those, I figured it was time to change it over. The only anime images remaining are the one on the Home Page of Chika Ito, and the one used on the Xkloosiv pages. In place of the other anime images that used to be here are now *gasp* pieces of Album Art! Yep. When downloading the mp3's from a set, if you want the album art, it's as simple as Right-Clicking the image on the page, and saving the image to wherever you please on your computer. Some art has their respective credits on the Image Credits page. ** Images Credits and Sound Credits Updated Sound Credits page, and a brand new Image Credits page (to keep me outta trouble!!) ** Brand New Full Album A new album entitled "Every Day Journey" is now up for download. Woohoo! ** NO MORE UPDATING OLD SONGS Why is that? Because my old computer got burned out, that's why. My old project files are gone - I do have a back-up of them on a disc somewhere. If I find the disc, then this won't be a problem. But as is right now, these mp3's are the ONLY evidence of my musical creations. Because of that, two songs on "Every Day Journey" might not sound too pleasing to you. The songs "Hello Friend" and "Sweet Dreams, This Concludes Our Every Day Journey." They are completed tunes, but I had lots of editting to do when my computer crashed. Hopefully it doesn't bother you all too much. Please bear with me, if you think YOU'RE sad about my computer crashing and me losing my project data, then imagine how I feel... 11-26-07 - Construction on 4shoko.net begins! Lots to do!
